Vaccine Passports will go into place in Ontario, September 22nd

Vaccination passports will be in place in Ontario starting September 22nd. Announced by the Province today it will be required to access non-essential businesses, including gyms, indoor restaurants, movie theatres, concert halls and shopping events, starting in three weeks. Doug Ford spoke to Ontarians today encouraging them to be respectful to those responsible for putting rules into place.
A vaccine passport will not be retail for shopping, banks, essential services, workplaces or outdoor patios.
The vaccine certificate would be used alongside a government-issued ID. The province is working on an app that will combine ID and the vaccine certification, which users can show if asked for proof.
The vaccine certificate rules will not apply to children under the age of 12 and people with medical exemptions.
The full list includes:
Restaurants and bars (excluding outdoor patios, as well as delivery and takeout);
• Nightclubs (including outdoor areas of the establishment);
• Meeting and event spaces, such as banquet halls and conference/convention centres;
• Facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities with the exception of youth recreational sport;
• Sporting events;
• Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments;
• Concerts, music festivals, theatres and cinemas;
• Racing venues (e.g., horse racing).
