A quick-thinking North Bay resident is being thanked for calling 911 with word of a fire. North Bay Fire and Emergency Service crews responded to an alarm at 164 Third Ave. W. at about 6:30 p.m. yesterday, that began when a candle was knocked over. Crews were on the scene in under three minutes. Firefighters were on the scene in under three minutes, entered the unit, and very quickly extinguished the fire.
