TP North Bay’s campaign may have wrapped up but donations of toilet paper continues to come in. Another 4,050 rolls have been added on to the previous total. All rolls are brought to 17 food banks in North Bay to help those in need.
Graduation rates are up in Timmins. At the June 11 District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) board meeting, trustees heard that the five-year graduation rate for the 2022-2023 school year is 74 per cent, which is an increase from 73 per cent the year before.

Algoma District School Board trustees approved the board’s 2024-25 budget Tuesday. Though the province has provided transition funding, a budget of just over $207 million ($207,869,377) includes a funding gap in student transportation due to the Ministry of Education’s new Core Education funding model introduced in April.
