The Graduate Student Association (GSA) of Laurentian University has announced that it has entered into a new partnership agreement with Northern Lights Festival Boréal. This marks the start of a year-long collaboration.

North Bay OPP is reminding the public that those using scooters and wheelchairs must follow the same rules as a pedestrian. Police have responded to reports that involve people operating wheelchairs or motorized scooters in the middle of the road.

District School Board Ontario North East has approved its 2024-2025 budget at this week’s meeting. It allocates over $20 million to capital projects at the district’s facilities. The operating budget is more than $158 million.

In Sault Ste Marie, cleaning up continues following a water main break downtown yesterday afternoon. It happens between Spring and March streets, where crews recently started a planned reconstruction of the road.

The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board has chosen a familiar face as its new director of education. Fil Lettieri currently a superintendent at the board, will replace Danny Viotto as director, effective July 1.

Health Sciences North talked improvements in patient care and progress on staffing needs during its annual general meeting yesterday. The number includes a total of 977 new employees during the last fiscal year and includes 238 registered nurses, registered practical nurses and nurse practitioners.”

In short, a post in question was made just before noon Tuesday by the page Hailey Montana. In short, this person has not been reported missing to the Timmins Police Service.”

The Sault Area Hospital’s new radiation therapy equipment is expected to be operational by August according to a SAH social media post. Albeit better late than never as it’s a month later than originally announced.

At last report… two active wildland fires continue to burn in the Northeast Fire Region. Cochrane 8 (COC008) is a 35-hectare fire that is being observed. This fire is located about 57.5 kilometres northwest of Moosonee.  Cochrane 9 (COC009) is a 6,022-hectare fire that is not yet under control. This fire is located about three kilometres east of Parson Lake and eight kilometres west of the Quebec border.
