Sharon Murdock, former New Democrat MPP for Sudbury in the 90’s has passed away. The announcement was made by Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. Murdock held the position from 1990 – 1995.

Greater Sudbury Police are seeking assistance in locating a missing woman. 31 year old Alyssa was last seen yesterday in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island, and is now believed to be in the Greater Sudbury area.

The Labor Market Group is reporting a second straight month of year-over-year increases in job postings in Nipissing. 621 job postings were recorded in May. That’s up nearly 17% from the same month last year.

Timmins and area OPP are recruiting for the volunteer auxiliary service. Information and recruitment sessions are planned for July 19th and 20th at the South Porcupine detachment and the 26th at the Iroquois Falls Public Library.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is looking for the help of the public to find a missing 40-year-old. Jordan Forbes. He is described as 6’1″ tall with a muscular build, blue eyes, full facial hair, and brown hair.

Timmins is putting up some money to help attract new doctors. After hearing from the Timmins Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee (TPRRC), city council has approved a three-year financial commitment to the physician start-up grant. It will see the city pay out $20,000 per new physician up to a maximum of $200,000 per year for three years.

Stuntman Wayne Wells is coming to Sudbury to offer a stunt seminar for those who want to take a walk on the wild side when it comes to the Northern film industry. It happens this weekend. Everything from smashing into things, to driving cars, and pyrotechnics are on the list. Wayne has spent 35 years in the business, while you may already have plans, the stunt man is looking forward to crashing the party.
