Two missing Sudbury teens are believed to be headed for Manitoulin Island. Missing are 15-year-old Nimkiis and 13-year-old Mayliah. Nimkiis is described as 5-6 tall and 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes, wearing a grey hoodie, red and black pants. Mayliah is 110 pounds and 5-0 tall with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black shirt and shorts.
This morning will bring a road closure with it in Timmins. Between 8 and noon, Pine Street South between First and Second Avenue will be closed, including the sidewalks. There will be a crane on site for the installation of an HVAC unit, according to the City
The City of Greater Sudbury is working to revamp Junction Creek from Lloyd Street to about 130 meters north of Perreault Street. According to the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee, the creek runs 52 kilometers through the city.
Meanwhile, just west of North Bay the access bridge connecting the east and west Duschesnay Falls trails is closed until further notice. The bridge structure is undergoing an evaluation to determine the best repair or replacement options, making the closure necessary for safety reasons.

Work crews in Sault Ste Marie are expecting to pour concrete curbs this week on the north side of Queen Street between March and Spring streets resulting in some road closures. Also planned for this week is installation of a new electrical/traffic duct across Brock, north of Queen. Brock Street will remain closed between Queen and Albert on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow this work. Access will be maintained to the businesses on Brock between Queen and Albert.
For the first time in over two decades, members of the Garden River Fire Department claimed the top spot at the Ontario Native Fire Fighters Society (ONFFS) competition. This contest was held during the final day of ONFFS’s annual conference, which took place July 25-27 in the Oneida Nation of the Thames in London, Ont.
A major house fire on Main Street West has done significant damage to the dwelling. North Bay Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1070 Main West, right across from the Beer Store shortly before 6 pm on Monday. The front part of the house is almost 70-years-old according to the North Bay Fire Chief.
