North Bay City police say don’t be alarmed if you see an increased police presence in parts of the city this week. Officials say the Emergency Response Team is training in various locations. They include Memorial Gardens, E.W. Norman School and the Government Dock.
Sault Ste Marie Firefighters were called to an apparent house fire yesterday evening on the 0-100 block of Dennis Street at the corner of Bay Street. There is no word as to the cause. For a time, Police blocked Bay Street at Tancred Street and Dennis Street between Bay Street and Queen Street.

An apparent controversial study that involved turning off traffic signals at three Sault intersections has found most local drivers want all the lights turned back on.
