Ski hill operations in Greater Sudbury shut down over the weekend due to further notice. Adanac Ski Hill and Lively Ski Hill are encapsulated in the closure, another sign of Spring… this week.

Meanwhile, flooding closed Highway 552 in Goulais over the weekend. Highway 552 in Goulais River was closed in all directions from Bellevue Valley Road to Highway 556 due to flooding. It has since reopened.

Trout Creek did not make the playoffs, so to speak… when it comes to be being one of the top 4 announced in the Hockeyville contest. That said the Trout Creek Community Centre had amused quite a fan base in the Kraft Hockeyville competition.

Timmins Police continues their search for a missing 62-year-old man. Laurent is indigenous, about 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with shoulder-length black-grey hair, brown eyes and a slender build. He was last seen wearing a light brown canvas jacket, dark navy jeans, black running shoes, black socks and a black ball cap.

Sault Ste Marie City councillors will be asked tonight to ban signs inside the council chamber. The proposed prohibition is included in a series of recommended amendments to council’s procedure bylaw.
