
The city of Sudbury is celebrating a major milestone on one of its major projects. The city announced Thursday it has selected an Edmonton-based company as the construction manager for the cultural hub, which will be located at Tom Davies Square.
A North Bay spokesman says the recent high temperatures have caused a section of newly laid sidewalk on Memorial Drive to buckle. The heat raised the sidewalk about 10 inches into the air. That said, repairs are all but finished.
District School Board Ontario North East has put an approval stamp on its 2025-26 budget. $162.9 million dollars has been approved by trustee’s tor the next school year. The board is anticipating enrolment to be at 7,180 students in its elementary and secondary schools, which is an increase of 59 from this year.

Two floors at Health Sciences North have been impacted by an outbreak. Announced Monday, the outbreak was initially confined the cardiology unit on the eighth floor of the north tower but has since spread to the fourth floor, which also cares for some cardiology patients.
