
A GOVA Transit bus fare phone app is coming in March. While it’s not confirmed exactly when, riders will be able to scan a QR code using their phone at the fare box to pay. That is expected to be followed by a reloadable plastic GOVA Pass smart card option.
The North Bay Police Service is hoping to have a new Auxiliary Police Program in place this spring. The force says they started laying the groundwork for the program in the fall of 2024, and they are working on new procedures surrounding it to be ready soon.
The Timmins Snowmobile Club and the Timmins Police Service are working together to patrol local Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trails. This week roughly 65 snowmobiles were checked with 10 riders found to be needing a valid OFSC trail permit.

Trustees approved revised estimates to the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s 2025-26 budget at their most recent meeting. The revised balanced budget is just over $103 million ($103,133,152.) Enrolment is up by 48 students from October estimates.
The City of Temiskaming Shores is reviewing and updating its Official Plan. It is the guides how the community will grow, what will be protected, and how land will be used. To that end, they’re looking for community feedback that can be submitted through their website.
