The lively ski hill says they’ve seen a much-needed surge in numbers. On Family Day, the hill saw more than 160 skiers and snowboarders took to the hill for a day on the slopes. It’s a much-needed boost for those who worked to save the hill from closing ahead of the winter season.

A possible service disruption involving Alouette Bus Lines could leave thousands stranded later this month. Nipissing-Parry Sound Student Transportation Services it could begin as early as Monday. It’s all-over stalled contract negotiations between the bus company and its drivers.

A fire in Schumacher had highway 101 closed for a time yesterday. The structural fire in the 100 block of Lions Crest Lane brought out an aerial truck is being brought in to fight the fire, which had gone though the roof. There were thankfully no injuries. The cause has not been given.
