A Former North Bay figure skater has been named the head coach of the Ridley College Skating School, a Skate Canada-sanctioned elite training program for high-performance student-athletes. Marika Steward. The college is one of Canada’s oldest private schools serving JK through Grade 12. The intensive figure skating program is new for September 2026.
The conservation authority has shared its first watershed report of the season. The updates provide data on how much snow there is, and the water movement across the Upper Mattagami watershed. For the second straight year, traffic at the International Bridge is down for February. Last month’s 54,121 crossings were a 9.3-per-cent decrease compared with February 2025, which itself saw a 13.5 per cent drop over February 2024.
