Outbreak declared at Great Sudbury Long Term Care Home

Finlandia Village Nursing Home in Greater Sudbury has declared an outbreak of COVID-19. This is in response to an employee testing positive for the virus. The woman is in her 30s and who works within the administration department.
Staff at Finlandia Village in Greater Sudbury say the administrative employee who tested positive for COVID-19 had little or no contact with residents at the facility.
 

Worker tests positive for COVID-19 at North Bay Hospital

A health care worker at the North Bay Regional Health Centre has tested positive for COVID-19. They are now self-isolation and presenting with mild symptoms. There are no other confirmed COVID-19 cases at the HCC.
 

Timmins celebrating Canada day online

Timmins is one of the first communities to indicate they are going to be celebrating Canada Day online. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s Canada Day Steering Committee will be transitioning celebrations to a virtual format.
 

Snowfall broke records in Greater Sudbury

If you thought the snowfall through the weekend was a little much you are not alone. Environment Canada says the 8 cm of snow fell on starting Thursday in Greater Sudbury alone broke the previous record set in 1983 of 2.4 cm.

Retailers and Parks able to reopen with conditions

Today, in Ontario… retailers are reopening. They must have a street entrance and must be able to provide curbside pickup. Elsewhere the province will reopen provincial parks and conservation areas for limited day use:  hiking, biking and birdwatching.
 

Snowbirds in Sault Ste Marie

The snowbirds are in Ontario today. While routes and times are subject to change. They are scheduled to fly over Sault Ste. Marie at 10:30 am.
