It’s all for COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to school. Those across the Province are unwell with any symptom… are required to stay home.
Community notice issued regarding COVID-19 case
A community notice regarding COVID-19 has gone out from the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. It’s regarding a confirmed case at a cafe in Parry Sound. The health unit says an individual worked at the Bay Street Cafe on Sept. 5, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The health unit says anyone who ate at the cafe on Sept. 5 is considered low-risk, based on ministry guidelines, but should be aware.
Haloween night and Santa Clause Parade Cancelled
The city of North Bay says this year’s Halloween night for kids at the fire hall and the Santa Claus Parade has been cancelled. The city says this was in consultation with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. The city says staff are consulting with other municipalities and exploring potential alternatives to the parade.
27th annual Toy Run for Women in Crisis tomorrow in the Sault
The 27th annual Toy Run for Women in Crisis is set for Tomorrow in Sault Ste Marie. Organized by Bikers Rights Organization… or Bro for short, the event sees the group collect donations of toys and gift cards from participants to help clients at Women in Crisis. The event is set to kick off at 11 a.m. with a full ride. It all begins at A&W North.
Science north to retrofit & develop Dynamic Earth
Science North will use $1.4 million in federal funding for retrofitting and development of Dynamic Earth. It is all for new programming spaces as well as the creation of a travelling exhibition focused on Indigenous science. Local MPs Paul Lefebvre, from Sudbury, and Marc Serre, of Nickel Belt, announced the money on behalf of Canadian Heritage minister yesterday.
Two two recycling trucks coming to Timmins
The City of Timmins’ Environmental Services Department will soon have two new vehicles. They’re side-loading automated refuse/recycling trucks. City council approved the purchase of the vehicles to replace older and out of service vehicles at a cost of $630,000, plus HST, during Tuesday’s meeting.

Falconbridge water tank is being drained
A practical note for some in Greater Sudbury. The Falconbridge water tank is being drained from this week all the way through till Sept. 21 to perform maintenance tests. Residents shouldn’t notice a change in service but may notice some water discolouration.
Natural gas coming to some North Bay homes
Homes and businesses along Northshore and Peninsula Roads in North Bay can expect a switch to natural gas. Construction of a $10 million underground natural gas pipeline is underway, with the province chipping in $9 million in funding.
