Four new cases of COVID-19 in the North East
Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reporting three new cases of COVID-19, all from Greater Sudbury. One of the cases is considered to be travel-related, and the other two are through contact with a travel-related case. All three people were tested Sept. 28, and are now self-isolating.

The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting one new COVID-19 case among residents from within the PHU district. This individual is between the ages of 60 and 79 became infected and was tested on Sept. 14, 2020 and remains in self-isolation outside the PHU region.
Option to talk chickens flown the coop
North Bay council has failed to reach a consensus to explore the option for the allowance and regulation of backyard chickens in the city. This is following a presentation done at city council earlier this month from interested parties. During last night’s meeting, the vote to explore the idea came in 4 – 4, meaning the motion had fallen.
Missing girl from Cochrane found safe
Many in Cochrane are breathing a sigh of relief. This is after a missing non-verbal 9-year with autism as been found. Kelsee Moore was remported missing yesterday on 5th Avenue near Railway Street in Cochrane. While the details have not been released, the OPP say the little girl is safe and sound.
A portion of McNabb street in SSM closed for two days
The upper east end of McNabb Street in Sault Ste Marie will be closed today and tomorrow. This is all so that the Public Works and Engineering Services Department can repair a sanitary lateral. No through traffic will be allowed through, but detours are in place.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is warning that a harmful algae bloom has been found in Commanda Lake in Restoule. The Blue Green Algae bloom produces toxins in harmful algae can irritate the skin and, if swallowed, could make one sick.

A former town councilor in Gore Bay will be filling in a vacant council seat until at least the end of this term for the township’s council. Jack Clark, will replace Patricia Bailey. This is after being chosen from the two candidates who had expressed interest.
