Slight increase of COVID-19, including one case in a Sudbury School

Provincial Numbers:
The Province of Ontario has logged a slight increase over yesterdays case counts of COVID-19. 1,969 infections.
 
One new case at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School
One new case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. The individual who tested positive is currently self-isolating and being monitored by Public Health Sudbury & Districts. Further details are on our website, included affected bus routes. Two classes at the school have been asked to self-isolate up to and including Feb. 11.
Isolating are an Ancient History Grade 11 and Basketball Class Grade 11. The affected students, their parents/guardians and relevant staff have been notified.
Students on the morning secondary run on Route L880 as well as the afternoon secondary run on Route L811 have also been asked to self-isolate until Feb. 11. Again, the affected students, their parents/guardians and relevant bus drivers have been notified.
The Sudbury Student Services Consortium announced on its website Monday that the two bus routes mentioned above are cancelled until Feb. 11.
 
Among the case counts today
There are two new cases announced by the North Bay Parry Sound  1 in Nipissing and 1 in Parry Sound. In addition, Public Health Sudbury and Districts also confirmed one new case.
 
Regarding Vaccines
The Golden Manor Home for the Aged in Timmins their 156 residents are expected to receive their first vaccinations against COVID-19 this week. The Manor is working closely with the Porcupine Health Unit. Long-term care homes in Iroquois Falls, Matheson and Cochrane have received their first batch of vaccine.
