There were thankfully no injuries in a fire in Sault Ste Marie over the weekend. It happened at a multi-unit residential building in the 0 to 100 block of Wellington Street East. The cause of the fire has been blamed on combustible items near a baseboard heater.
Meanwhile,
A weekend fire in North Bay has been deemed suspicious. It happened early Saturday. A 24-foot utility trailer containing cots, chairs and tools was destroyed in the process. The call came in from the 1000 block of O’Brien St. between Highway 11 and Albert Street. A North Bay police officer called in the fire after trying to put it out with an extinguisher. There were no injuries.
