Among COVID-19 cases today, Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reporting 34 new cases of COVID-19. Of those 18 have screened positive for a variant of concern.
Meanwhile, the City of Greater Sudbury says with the shift in the colour coded frame work, they’re now closing pools, arenas and fitness centres in response to the ongoing surge in COVID-19 cases. Mayor Brian Bigger says numbers are “alarming,” and residents need to stay home and leave only for essential purposes.
Elsewhere, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit reported an additional resolved case of COVID-19. It was resolved today. The latest resolved case is in Parry Sound District. There are now four active cases of COVID-19 in Nipissing District and one in Parry Sound District.
Meanwhile, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 over the weekend. It is part of the Lancelot apartment outbreak. The outbreak has now infected 45 people, with two cases still active.
