Unemployment slightly up in Sault Ste Marie

Sault Ste. Marie’s unemployment increased slightly last month over the start of the Summer. In August it was 8.1 percent, representing an increase from a recent low of 6.5 percent in June. The August rate was 7.1 percent nationally and 7.6 percent in Ontario.
