Firearm Petition delivered to Ottawa from Northern MP

Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, MP Carol Hughes has delivered a petition sponsored to Parliament this week. It is from the Espanola Hand Gun Club on the subject of the United Nations Protocol against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms. The petitioners say that a simple requirement for a serial number on all new firearms imported into Canada will satisfy the United Nations request to have fire arms tracked vs. tracing firearms through the use of the firearm’s make model and serial number, adding both time and costs for residents.
