15-year-old Courtney Smith LOCATED

A 15-year-old Sudbury girl has been located, after being gone, more than a month. The OPP too to twitter to say that Courtney Smith has been located and thanked members of the public for their help. While there is no indication as to where she was found, Police say that despite running away, in early November… she is safe and sound.
 

Police cruiser involved in a weekend crash

Details are still coming in regarding a two-vehicle collision involving a police cruiser in Greater Sudbury. Police say it happened yesterday and that there were some injuries. The cause of the Paris and Brady St crash has not been released.
 

Flooding due to frozen-pipes

Sault Ste. Marie Fire services have responded to a number of calls regarding to broken pipes leading to flooded basements within the city. While it’s unclear how many they’ve had in the past week, authorities are reminding residents to take the time and locate
the shutoff valve in case of emergency.
 

71-year-old dies following collision

The OPP say a 71-year-old man has now died following a head-on collision last week in the Espanola area. The Espanola senior was rushed to the hospital by Sudbury-Manitoulin District Emergency Medical Services, but succumbed to injuries. The crash closed the highway for about 90 minutes.
 

Snow depth right on par

The first look at snow depth in North Bay, so far so good. At least that’s according to the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority. They say all up… 14 cm of snow has accumulated since December 1st. The measurement within the Chippewa Creek watershed reads approx. 23 cm of snow, but if it melted it would only produce about 4 cm of water.

Missing – Jody Neveau, 23

Sault Ste. Marie Police continue their search for a missing woman. 23-year-old Jody Neveau was reported missing late November. There is some indication, should could be in Sault or may have left for Toronto. She is described as Indigenous, with brown eyes and long, straight black hair. Neveau is five-foot-eight and 115 pounds.
