Mental heath sparks conversation in the North

The numbers are gathering in Sudbury, Espanola, and Manitoulin Island; Students ready to stand up for Youth Mental Health. In Greater Sudbury, it will take shape in a conference, a culmination of a Students as Researchers initiative implemented by the Rainbow District School Board Student Senate. The latest numbers say that 70 per cent of students feel significant stress around school. It all takes place next week.
Meanwhile, the City of Sault Ste. Marie, in partnership with the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, says they’ve received a boost when it comes to Mental Health. A $20,000 grant has come in from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund. The funds will move toward the development and maintenance of the City of Sault Ste. Marie First Responder Peer Support Program.
