Upgrades coming to 9 schools under Algoma District School Board

The Algoma District School Board says over $10 million of Provincial funding is fulling capital projects at nine of its sites later this year. Trustees approved an operations budget committee’s request for $11,334,000 in spending at a meeting Tuesday night. A full list of projects can be found below:
East View (heating and classroom upgrades)
Grand View (washroom upgrades)
Kiwedin (exterior upgrades)
Prince Charles Secondary School (gym ventilation),
Korah Collegiate and Vocational School (locker replacements, entrance and music room upgrades)
White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School (ceiling and lighting and ventilation upgrades, digital signage)
Central Algoma Secondary School (front entrance, science classroom upgrades, washroom and change room upgrades)
Central (parking lot, refurbish washrooms) and Chapleau JK-12 (replace building management system).
Work will be done in the summer, with some projects continuing in the fall and into 2019.
