Woman charged in impaired driving

A 41-year-old Sudbury woman has been charged… in connection with a fire in Gordon Township. The Manitoulin Island Blaze was allegedly set by Desjardins at a home in Highway 542. The investigation that began nearly four months ago in November of last year… concluded just before the weened.
 

One sent to hospital following coffee shop collision

A three-car crash on Pinewood Park Drive in North Bay has sent one woman to hospital. The accident happened over the weekend, at the exit of a Tim Hortons, where the exit for the shop meets Pinewood. One car leaving the parking lot was struck by a second. One of those vehicles then spun around hitting a third.
 

Debit Card thief sought


A debit card thief is being sought by the District of Cochrane Crime Stoppers. Police are saying that shortly after the rightful owner, lost her card it was picked up ad used to illegal purchase just over $195 worth of product using the tap feature.
 

No traffic study coming for intersection

Sault Ste. Marie city councilors have turned down a traffic study at a busy intersection. The controversial Albert Street intersections at Gore Street and Andrew Street will not be getting a $6,500 study, according to the city, despite being recommended by a city design and construction engineer. City Police recently reported that in a recent blitz, 41 drivers were charged with failing to obey the Albert Street stop signs.
 

Long Term Care beds requested

Another long-term care facilities in Nipissing has applied for more beds. Casselholme in North Bay says they want 16 more beds added to its current total of 240. Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is told reporters that he’s hoping for a quick response from the Ministry of Health.
 

Ford Nation in Ontario PC’s

Doug Ford is the new leader of the Ontario PC Party.  Following a long, drawn out process to count and then review the more than 64,000 ballots cast by party members, Ford narrowly edged out former MPP Christine Elliott.  The Spring election is June 7th.
