Man found deceased in Provincial Park

An elderly man has been pronounced dead just outside of greater Sudbury. It supposedly happened near the Killarney Provincial Park over the long weekend. On Saturday, shortly after 4 p.m., members of the Sudbury OPP along with paramedics and air ambulance responded to a report of a drowning on Tyson Lake, the OPP said in a release. A 75-year-old man from North Middlesex was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 

Wanted: Richard “Ricky” Green, 41


Timmins Police are looking for a suspect wanted on charges that include 2nd degree murder. The man wanted is 41-year-old Richard Green. This is tied to an incident involving the remains of a vehicle near Brundy Lane in the Gold Centre area of Schumacher. Green is 5’ 10” tall and weighing roughly 190 pounds, in what police said was a medium build. He has blue/green eyes. He has reddish brown hair, worn long and usually in a ponytail, with a reddish-brown goatee style beard, said police.
 

Howarth promising more long-term-care beds in Sault Ste. Marie

The NDP and their leader Andrea Horwath were in Sault Ste. Marie over the weekend, touting a boost in long term care beds, by more than 50%. Leader Andrea Horwath made the commitment during a campaign stop at a Cafe on Saturday afternoon saying that the waiting list for long-term care beds in the Sault currently stands at 587. She would add 600 more spaces by 2021.
 

Man sought: Gerald McKee, 51


Greater Sudbury Police officers are looking for the public’s help in finding a 51-year-old man. His name is Gerald McKee. He was was last seen Friday about 8:40 p.m. in near Health Sciences North on Ramsey Lake Road. McKee is described as being 5-foot-8, 170 pounds, balding with short brown hair and blue eyes.
 

Apartment fire in West Ferris

North Bay Firefighters were called to an apartment fire in West Ferris. The call came it at around 5:30 p.m. yesterday. There is no word as to the total damage done at the Manitou Street building. There is also no word as to any injuries.
 

Stolen car pulled over during RIDE check

A Paris street RIDE check in Sudbury over the weekend turned up a stolen car. This was all part of 19 Highway Traffic Act Offences overall, at ride stops on Paris Street and Notre Dame Avenue. Allegedly boosted in Hamilton, the car was recovered by hauled off the road following an investigation. The driver and occupants face several charges.
