Fatal accident kills 4 in head-on collision

Highway 17 has been re-opened following a fatal collision. It happened on Sunday, just after 10:00pm, 15 kilometers south of Wawa. The Preliminary investigation has revealed that a southbound vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle. The northbound vehicle carried five occupants, all of which were transported to the hospital with varying degrees of injury. Two of the five occupants have since succumbed to injury, while two occupants in the southbound vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene. while the other two occupants were transported to the hospital.
 

More coming for apprentices in Greater Sudbury

Nickel Belt MP Marc Serré says that more is coming to Sudbury when it comes to apprentice training. Yesterday the MP announced just over $278,000 in federal fuding to that end. The money will assist the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners in America Local 2486 to buy new equipment meant to help apprentices develop the skills they’ll need on the jobsite.
 

32-year-old charged in domestic incident

A 32-year old man is facing charges following a domestic incident in North Bay. It is alleged that officers were called to the Thibeault Terrace area of North Bay. A man had attended outside the residence of his former partner and made threats to her. He also produced a weapon, following a struggle Police took the male into custody. He is facing multiple charges.
 

Timmins man found driving on sidewalk, charged

A Timmins man is accused of driving on the sidewalk in a residential area of the city. It all began when Police were called regarding a pickup truck on a sidewalk adjacent to a city street in a residential area in the west end of the city of Timmins. The 46-year old male is facing a number of charges including dangerous driving.
 

Sault Ste. Marie settles up with Algoma for $21.8 mil

The City of Sault Ste. Marie says reached an agreement with Algoma, when it comes to settling up on unpaid tax bills. While the agreement will see the city receive 91 per cent, or $21.8 million of the negotiated $23.8 million the amount paid will be based on a new negotiated property assessment agreement reached between the parties.
 

Missing: Chad Bowerman, 39-year-old  (Update – FOUND)

Police out of Espanola are reaching out to the public in hopes to find a missing man. Last seen at a residence on Young Street, in Webbwood. Police are looking for 39-year-old Chad BOWERMAN, witnessed to be working on a pick-up truck in his garage. Chad is being described as a white male, approximately 5′ 11″ tall, medium build, 206 pounds, short dark brown hair, slight dark brown beard with tinges of grey and slight dark brown mustache. He was last seen wearing blue work pants/work shirt, and grey running shoes with blue and silver on the sides.
