A few years ago, I had just finished my very first attempt at a painting. My husband and my children were so encouraging, but as I shared it with them, they each seemed to point out very different things they noticed and liked about it.

Many times, we have visited Art museums during our summer holidays and I am always amazed at how many interpretations people can have of one single painting. A piece of art can move you deeply. I’ve stood before a painting feeling saddened by the tone of it, while others I’ve looked at were so beautiful, I’ve almost wanted to step inside of them.

I realized the other day as I opened up the Bible and began read it that the word of God is like a painting as well. It can move you and change you like nothing else. We can read the same verse again and again and somehow hear God saying something different each time. We can look upon it as if we are looking at the face of God, speaking right to our hearts. And we can read a portion of scripture and receive strength from it’s life giving words and then find ourselves in conversation with someone else who reads the same passage and feel God speaking to them in a completely different way.

Like a beautiful painting given to us by the most skilled artist. We have received such a priceless gift from our heavenly Father. The words upon the pages of this book, bring healing and life, they bring freedom and hope and there is layer upon layer of wisdom and revelation for each of us.

As a Mom, many times, I have felt like I was walking around in the dark, that I just needed help, and  reassurance that I could make it through another sleepless night or that my ever growing list of chores would somehow get done and every time I poured over the pages of this precious book I have found hope and felt peace that the God in me was enough to fill my every need!

So, I want to encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus and meditate on his word, his beautiful word, till it moves you, strengthens you and brings you life.

Psalm 119:105 says “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”.

Psalm 119:103 says “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth”

Psalm 18:30 says As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
