100-Million Dollar Arena/Event Center to be built on the Kingsway

Despite strong opposition from the Mayor, secret amendments and four hours of very heated deliberations, Sudbury City Council has decided to build a new 100-million-dollar arena on the Kingsway property owned by Dario Zulich through his company “True North Strong”. Council had been faced with the option of building the arena downtown – or at the Kingsway sight. Several national property developers agreed the Kingsway sight will give Sudbury the opportunity to become a major sports and entertainment hub. In addition to the arena and entertainment complex, the sight will include a Casino, Conference Centre, and Hotel complex.
