Plates pulled in “Vehicle Fitness” program

The plates were removed from 10 unsafe vehicles and 19 motorists were charged in a vehicle fitness inspection. Operated by the North Bay Police Service and MTO it happened at the Highway 17 MTO scale at Gormanville Road. A total of 28 vehicles were inspected: Seven passed, and Seven failed
The plates were voluntarily terminated from four vehicles because the registered owner believed their vehicle would fail inspection. During that time, North Bay police officers issued inspection report notices to drivers of vehicles that displayed apparent mechanical deficiencies. The vehicles identified by police were inspected by MTO officers on the final day of this initiative at the MTO scale.
