Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association says job action comes next week

In the Province, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association says job actions will continue next week. As such a province-wide, one-day strike has been announced for Tuesday, Jan. 21, the among the school boards, Sudbury Catholic District School Board has announced classes are cancelled at all of its schools that day.
A notice posted on the board’s website says programs affected will be as follows:
• All classes are cancelled, and schools are closed to students.
• All sports and other extracurricular events are cancelled.
• All before and after school childcare programs remain open.
• All daycare centres remain open.
• All Community Use of Schools programs/events will run as scheduled.
• All non-OECTA staff are expected to report to their school or workplace as usual.
• The school board said it does not anticipate pickets taking place at its school sites Jan. 21.
