There is no word as to the cause of a fire at the residential units at St. Andrew’s Place in Greater Sudbury yesterday afternoon. The call came in just before 5:30 p.m. One person was taken to hospital with “smoke inhalation,” and two people were treated by paramedics on site, he said.

North Bay Mayor Peter Chirico will outline his vision for North Bay — and for the year to come — at a State of the City Breakfast.

FIRST Robotics Team 1305 in North Bay has installed their refurbished Hospital Interactive Coin Operated Lego Contraption. Longtime supporters of the North Bay Regional Health Centre, this high school aged robotics team says it’s their way of giving back to their community.

A strong low pressure system will affect much of Northern Ontario today with multitude kinds of precipitation.  In many places, rain is mixed with freezing rain or ice pellets. Temperatures into tomorrow will rapidly drop into the minus teens leading to the potential of a flash freeze. Hazardous travel conditions are expected as roads may become icy, and drivers are being asked to reconsider their plans.
