The Power is back on in the Notre Dame-Kingsway district of Greater Sudbury after a transformer fire. Caused by downed wires it took some time, but city crews say everything has been restored.

The city of North Bay is putting additional resources in place to try and keep the McIntyre Street parking garage clean and safe. Senior staff have hired additional security personnel who are tasked with the job of going through the garage in the morning.

Timmins Police has launched what’s known as the CAMSafe program. For the program, people can voluntarily register their closed circuit, security video and doorbell cameras to create a database to help reduce crime in the city.

A new chief administrative officer has been named for Iroquois Falls. Brian Finner is the new CAO, the town announced. Joel Cyr is the new deputy CAO/director of growth and infrastructure.

A downtown Timmins building ravaged by a multi-day fire has been released back to the property owner. The City of Timmins fire prevention officer has also determined that the fire at the Empire Complex was accidental.
